Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Lead serves as BPAES quality control Specialist to assist in shop quality of engines in work and incoming engines, perform daily audits, performs end of job audit and provide technical assistance to engine teams as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs Daily checks on all packages for paperwork accuracy and progression
- Perform Quality audits on work packs and production process as well as logistics, parts, quarantine, and scrap areas.
- Works with Team leads for SB and AD compliance
- Maintains calibrated tools and maintains tools are all up to date on calibration
- Performs periodic check of toolboxes and makes sure all tools are shadowed, etched, and in proper place
- Will help modify or create routers for work sign offs
- Helps create quality paperwork to better track quality of work
- Works with Director of Quality manager for quality assurance of department
- Keeps account of mistakes being made during quality audits so that corrections can be made and people making the mistake can be corrected
- Assists with training needs of techs to help them get qualified on workscopes efficiently
- Maintains OJT logging and keep training matrix up to date for all technicians
- Participate in “Work Order Induction” meeting of all work orders with production team and team lead to acknowledge all work needing to be completed
- Participating in Gate 1 meetings with production team and team leads to assess all work is being addressed, that needs to be addressed and everything is documented
- Develop new ways and more efficient ways to better streamline quality flow, direction, and reduce possible causes of quality escapes
- Provide oral and practical testing for all Tech 2 promotions
- Have working knowledge of BPAES all repair station manuals
- Have working knowledge of all Customer Quality requirements (ie OPSM and others)
- Review Red Tags for parts needing repairs
Job Requirements:
- Have experience within a Aviation 145 repair station either as a technician or quality
- Ability to communicate and work with customers pertaining to quality issues
- Ability to work with Microsoft applications (excel, PowerPoint, word) as well as Adobe
- Have knowledge of FARs and how to research the FAA system
- Have ability to read and interpret engine manual along with SB Requirements and AD requirements
