Operations Manager
Come join the BP Aerospace team in Irving, Texas! As the Operations Manager, you’ll support our operations and a dedicated team of skilled staff of aircraft and aerospace production and repair technicians.
Description Summary:
Direct the Operations of a rapidly growing FAA Repair Station with 100+ total combined A&P Mechanics, Repairmen, Technicians, Quality, Customer service, and facility maintenance personnel. The operation includes operations in 3 facilities on campus with over 60K sq ft and special process that include Heat Treat, Thermal Spray, HVOF, Shot Peen, Water-Blast, Wet Blast and Paint and 20+ special machining assets that include VTL’s, CNC Lathes, ID OD Grinders, Mills and EDM equipment. The operation also has multiple 4 step clean and NDT Lines.
The successful candidate will implement Lean Practices throughout the operation. Currently there are 7 Cell operations, and each have challenges with growing volume and the need for greater levels of team building to achieve TAT performance improvements.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include hiring, mentoring, leading, scheduling, and other staffing related activities. The operation is planned to grow by 100% in the next 2 years.

The successful candidate will be challenged to utilize an array of skills to meet the needs of the business. A plan to leverage an exceptional amount of data that can be analyzed is paramount to success.
- This is a position responsible for the profitability and delivery performance of the business unit.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential:

Prior experience managing individuals, managing projects and managing managers required.

Demonstrated forecasting, modeling and statistics application will be given keen consideration.

Education that includes engineering, applied material science, and graduate business combinations will also be given weight.

Expertise in the ongoing operations of machine equipment and their maintenance also is highly valued.

Lastly, since this is an FAA Repair Station, experience in the commercial revenue passenger service engine component maintenance that
include engine models CFM56-3/5/7, CF6 family and various Pratt engine platforms would be beneficial.
Salary commensurate with experience, health care, 401K and a bonus plan is included in the total compensation package.
