Job Description:
This position performs complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and technical tasks related to equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair, to include both servo-mechanically and electro-mechanically operated equipment in the Aerospace Industry.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing routine inspection checks on equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues promptly and efficiently.
- Performing preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to ensure continuous productivity.
- Utilizing PLCs for automation and control, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Participating in safety meetings and adhering to established safety procedures.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to solve complex problems and improve efficiency.
- Documenting all maintenance and repair work for future reference and reporting to management.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technological advancements in the engineering industry to ensure that the company’s machinery and equipment are in line with industry standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
- Ability to work on industrial equipment such as but not limited to pumps, lathes, chillers, heat exchangers, control panels, PLC’s, compressors, furnaces, forklifts, gearboxes, etc.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprint and schematics.
- Working knowledge of PCs in a Microsoft environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
COMPETENCIES/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 Year Technical/Vocational training and 4+ years of relevant experience as an electromechanical technician.
- Plumbing experience, a plus but not required.
- Degree in Engineering discipline or related field a plus.
- Experience working in FAA 145 or similar facilities, equipment is a plus but not required.
- OSHA/NFPA certifications a plus.
- Electrical and Plumbing certifications a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
